description Project Overview

For 2025 EVGrand Prix, the team modified a gas-powered kart with custom EV platform utilizing an Orion BMS, CuicPower battery pack, & Curtis motor controller. Led throttle mapping & low-voltage power distribution design and drafted first versions of KiCAD overall electrical system schematic.

For 2026 EVGrand Prix, the team is utilizing a custom (student-designed & manufactured) battery pack, integrating a VESC used primarily for electric skateboards, and designing & manufacturing an axial flux motor for system efficiency & weight reduction. Leading power distribution simplification to reduce wiring complexity & kart mechanical design for optimized weight transfer & on-track dynamics.
